Letter: Capitalism at its worst

By Sue Miller, Vancouver

Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who is the most unpatriotic of us all? Could it be Kim Rgeum, CEO of Dreyer’s Ice Cream, or maybe David S. Taylor of Charmin? Yes, it could; and also the CEO of any other company that is downsizing its product while increasing the cost at the same time. We see you! You are choosing to gouge Americans who are struggling to keep families fed, housed, and able to secure the most basic needs.

How un-American. Shame on you! All of you! Do you care? You have no shame, you have only greed. You could sacrifice the stimulation of your bottom line, as Americans are sacrificing, as Ukraine is sacrificing. But, no! Why do you embrace this practice? Because you can. You are American capitalism at its very worst.

Look in the mirror!
