Letter: Children’s lives will be saved

Regarding the article “Abortion draft puts wave of public pressure on Supreme Court” by Lisa Mascaro published on May 4, I think that the overturning of Roe v. Wade could be beneficial as well as dangerous to the U.S. as a whole. The fact that each state will have more control of abortion may cause a lot of dissension between different states. Many states will ban abortion and it will likely lead to protest and a further rift of those in the Democratic Party and those in the Republican Party.

The good that overturning Roe v. Wade can do is to finally limit and restrict abortion. When a child is conceived it is alive. In states that hold this to be true, many children’s lives will be saved. I don’t think that this law being overturned is about women’s rights as much as it is about fighting for the right to life.
