Letter: Seek diplomacy in Ukraine

By Helen Ost, Vancouver
Published: November 7, 2022, 6:00am

Americans and the world need economic recovery, diplomacy, and peace.

This prolonged Ukrainian war affects all of us, and the threat of nuclear conflagration looms large. The gap between Western media’s reporting of the war in Ukraine and the actual war on the ground is getting wider.

Yet, when a group of progressive congressional Democrats urged negotiations to end the Ukraine war, they were forced to recant their call for diplomacy. Biden’s dismissal of diplomacy prolongs the destruction of Ukraine and threatens nuclear war. Diplomacy and negotiation will end the war’s devastation and bloodshed — it will happen eventually.

Write Biden and your members of Congress, suggesting now is the time to begin negotiations to end the Ukrainian war.
