A pedestrian was killed Sunday night when he was struck by a vehicle on westbound state Highway 500 near Andresen Road, according to the Washington State Patrol.

A white 2012 Lexus sedan was traveling at about 10:30 p.m. west on the highway, approaching Andresen, when the pedestrian walked into the lane from the center median and was struck, according to a State Patrol crash memo.

The pedestrian — who was not identified, pending notification of next of kin — was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, identified as Valia Eskandari, 61, of Beaverton, Ore., was uninjured, troopers said.
