Letter: City council is derelict in duty

There is no argument about the need to assist the homeless in downtown Vancouver.

However, as a property/business owner across the street from the proposed third Safe Stay site, we have been entirely disrespected. The business owners have offered numerous alternate sites. The business community also has found developers who want to build housing, which would add considerable tax revenue and needed housing. This is a very expensive piece of property that is being used to accommodate 20 to 40 people.

This is dereliction of duty by our current city council in all respects. I will remember their names when they run for reelection.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
