Letter: Watch out for Republicans

By Roy Wilson, Vancouver
Published: November 24, 2022, 6:00am

Republican leaders may say they have numerous plans to pursue now that they control the House, but what they will actually do will be what they have always done: They will spend the next two years doing everything possible to prevent President Joe Biden from making any progress, no matter how much it would help the American people.

They will hurt our nation in every way possible; try to destroy Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid; stall our economy and push us into a recession; then, during the next election, blame President Biden and the Democrats for the damage they have caused.

Remember, these are the same people who voted against President Biden’s infrastructure plan and then, when it passed, went back to their home states and took credit for all the good things provided by the plan they voted against. Hypocrisy has never been a problem for them.

The next two years will see huge amounts of spite and lies. They will waste money repeatedly, then blame President Biden and the Democrats for our debt, as well as for every other problem humanity faces.

It will be disgusting and hurtful, but they will be proud of themselves if it captures the minds and votes of millions of ignorant, gullible Americans.

Just watch.
