Return of Vancouver’s tree lighting reignites a holiday tradition

Hundreds of people braved the rain and cold Friday evening to welcome the holiday season at The Rotary Community Tree Lighting celebration in Esther Short Park in downtown Vancouver. After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, families were eager to reboot the holiday tradition

Santa Claus arrived around 6 p.m. via a Vancouver Fire Department fire truck and helped light the tree.
