Avah Eslinger scored twice as Columbia River girls soccer avenged its only loss of the season, beating R.A. Long 4-1 on Tuesday at John O’Rourke Field.

The Rapids (8-1-0-0, 24 points) extended their lead atop the 2A Greater St. Helens League. Columbia River is five points clear of Ridgefield, which moved past R.A. Long into second place with a 2-0 win over Hockinson.

The Lumberjills knocked off the Rapids 1-0 on Sept. 15 in Longview.

Eslinger quickly made sure the Rapids wouldn’t be shut out again, scoring eight minutes in. The junior then put Columbia River ahead 2-0 two minutes before halftime.

The Rapids added a third goal just before halftime on Lilly Mickel’s goal.
