Disenchanted with Kent, more Republicans pivot to Perez

3rd District candidates will debate at 2 p.m. today

If there is any chance for Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez to represent Southwest Washington in Congress, it all hinges on her ability to gather robust Republican support.

To compare, her counterpart vying for the position, Joe Kent, R-Yacolt, checks many boxes that appeal to conservative voters — he served as a Green Beret, he’s endorsed by former President Donald Trump and he has vowed to take down Democratic policies.
