VANCOUVER — Furry Friends cat rescue and charity hosted several fundraising events in September.

Furry Friends was at the Peace and Justice Fair on Sept. 10, selling handmade pet-themed items for animal lovers and their furry companions such as cat hats, pet beds, hot pads, potholders, jewelry and more. Total sales and donations made from the event amounted to $1,186 to support local cats in need.

Furry Friends also hosted The South Pawcific Auction on Sept. 17 at the Heathman Lodge. The themed event involved attendees dressed in tropical attire as they took part in the friendly bidding wars. The event concluded having raised $68,000 which was put toward the organization’s annual operating costs as well as covering medical expenses for the cats in their care.
