Jake Kennedy threw for two touchdowns and ran for two as the Skyview Storm beat Battle Ground 39-6 Friday at soggy District Stadium.

The win by the Storm (6-2, 1-1 4A Greater St. Helens League) sets up what is essentially a playoff game next week against Union for the remaining state playoff berth from the 4A GSHL.

Kennedy threw a 28-yard touchdown over the middle to Riley Artis to open the scoring, and had a 52-yard TD pass to Gavin Packer to start the second half.

Kennedy then scored TD on runs of 12 and 5 yards in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.

Levi Webb and Trey Jacob each added short TD runs in the second quarter for Skyview.

Battle Ground (2-6, 0-2) scored its touchdown in the second quarter when Munro Smith connected with Saveliy Tkachenko on a 64-yard play to make the score 13-6 at that point.

The Skyview defense kept Battle Ground out of the end zone when the Tigers were in close late in the third quarter. A quarterback sack by Alex Betancourt followed by an interception in the end zone by Micah Robison ended the Tigers’ threat.
