RIDGEFIELD — Ridgefield stayed on track to secure at least a No. 3 seed to the playoffs from the 2A Greater St. Helens League with a 26-6 victory over R.A. Long on Saturday.

Logan DeBeaumont threw two touchdown passes for the Spudders (4-4, 3-2 2A GSHL).

R.A. Long (0-8, 0-6) had given up 40 points in five of its last six games.

The Lumberjacks gave the Ridgefield special teams fits all night, including causing a fumble on the initial kickoff of the game, but were unable to capitalize on the opening turnover.

Ridgefield would get it back driving down the field and Cly Stephens punched it in with a 4-yard rushing touchdown.

Ridgefield found the end zone again in the second quarter as DeBeaumont would connect on a short pass to Jahlil Lavine for a touchdown and a 12-0 lead.

Ridgefield traded turnovers with R.A. Long, losing a fumble on a punt, but later regaining possession as Brody Masterson intercepted R.A. Long quarterback Shaun Mize.

As the second half kicked off, the Spuds would get a stop then rely heavily on their run game. Eventually Rocco Wright found the end zone on a 2-yard run to extend the lead to 18-0.

Ridgefield would find the end zone once more in the third quarter as DeBeaumont passed it 22 yards for the touchdown to Brayden Malella. A two-point conversion made it 26-0.

In the fourth quarter, R.A. Long got its first points of the game on a 30-yard pass from Shaun Mize to Lonnie Brown Jr.

Ridgefield showed its dominance in the run game as Wright and Stephens pieced together long drives down the field all game long.
