Vancouver police say they are continuing to investigate a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday in the area of Mill Plain Boulevard and Northeast Chkalov Drive.

Officers responded at about 7 p.m. to reports of a disturbance with a weapon. Upon arrival, they found an 18-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her hand and a 23-year-old man who was dead, according to an updated police news release.

The woman was treated at an area hospital and released, police said.

The identity of the man, as well as his cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office, the police department said Monday.

Police spokeswoman Lt. Kathy McNicholas previously said investigators have not made any arrests.

The police department’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating. Detectives learned that several people were present during the shooting who have not come forward or spoken with police. Anyone with information is asked to call the Vancouver Police Tip Line at 360-487-7399.
