Mitch Johnson threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Akili Kamau with 16 seconds left as the Thunder rallied for a non-league win in the Tri-Cities.

Trailing 44-31 with 5:12 to play, Mountain View pulled within 44-38 on a 5-yard touchdown run by Kedyn Bolds.

Mountain View’s defense then held, giving the Thunder the ball at their own 30 with 1:44 to play. One play after converting on 4th and 3, Johnson hit Kamau for a 23-yard pass to put Mountain View at the 16.

After Kamau’s touchdown grab, Owen Purvis hit the extra point to put Mountain View in front.

The Thunder (5-4) will be part of a tiebreaker Monday with Evergreen and Prairie to decide one berth to the postseason.
