Letter: Show your love of country

By Bill Webster, Vancouver

As Americans, we should all be very concerned with the direction in which our country is headed, regardless of political views.

America was founded on the ideals of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. In recent years, I’ve seen the left abuse and tear down our legal system by defunding and literally attacking police, attacking their political opponents and refusing to accept election results.

The current administration demonized nearly 75 million Americans for supporting Trump. We are now “enemies of the state.” Joe Kent served with honor and distinction in our military. His wife made the ultimate sacrifice, losing her life while serving. I would support his America First platform with or without Trump’s endorsement. If your hatred of Trump outweighs your love of country, examine your heart.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
