The Central Washington defensive line is anchored by two redshirt seniors from Clark County.

Isaiah Carbajal (Mountain View High School) and Kai Gamble (Union High School) led a shutdown defensive effort Saturday as Central Washington beat Simon Fraser 40-7. The Wildcats allowed just 149 yards of offense.

Carbajal and Gamble combined for seven tackles. Gamble, a defensive end, had two tackles for loss and one-half of a sack.

The duo has been a presence on the Ellenburg campus for a long time. Carbajal, has been with the program since 2017. He overcame injuries last season to appear in five games. On Sept. 10, Carbajal had six tackles in a win over Western New Mexico,

Gamble also arrived at Central Washington in 2017. He’s coming off a successful 2021 season, where he appeared in all 11 games and had six tackles for loss.
