Letter: Personal responsibility is avoided

I encountered a new wording for the MAGA acronym: “Make A lawyer Get A lawyer.” Attorneys across the country are being hired by people who were identified as “willing dupes” to execute criminal acts solely for his benefit.

The “party” of personal responsibility enables the worst avoider of any responsibility. He makes the phone calls. He makes the speeches. He asks the favors. He demands others to break, skirt or obstruct. He ignores the law regarding preservation of government records and the handling of classified information. He alone is the victim, but all the others risk their lives, their reputations, their livelihood, their savings, their freedom, their careers or their safety.

Originally, George Washington just went back home. He was and wanted to be considered a citizen of no extraordinary standing among all others. In my opinion that is an “originalist” concept that should be reinstituted regarding any elected government service. No extraordinary consideration regarding criminal behavior investigation, prosecution, finding of guilt or sentencing should be rendered. In my opinion, that is also part of the vision of democracy.
