Men’s Soccer

THE WEEK THAT WAS

The Penguins (2-4, 2-3) beat Shoreline 4-1 on Wednesday at home in their only match of the week. Abou-Bakar Berthe scored twice as Clark outshot Shoreline 12-4.

THE WEEK TO COME

The Penguins face South Puget Sound on Wednesday at home. Kickoff is at 2 p.m. Saturday, Clark travels to face Highline.

Women’s Soccer

THE WEEK THAT WAS

The Penguins (3-2, 3-2) lost to Centralia 1-0 on Saturday at home. Clark lost despite holding a 12-1 advantage in shots.

THE WEEK TO COME

The Penguins have two road matches, facing Green River on Wednesday and Gray’s Harbor on Saturday.

Volleyball

THE WEEK THAT WAS

The Penguins went 2-2 at the NWAC Crossover Tournament in Tacoma. Clark lost to Blue Mountain 3-1 then beat Olympic 3-1 on Friday. Saturday, the Penguins lost to South Puget Sound 3-2 then beat Wenatchee Valley 3-0.

THE WEEK TO COME

The Penguins travel to Umpqua on Wednesday then host Lane on Saturday.

Cross Country

THE WEEK THAT WAS

The Penguins competed at the Eastern Oregon Invitational on Friday in La Grande, Ore. Gary Sherman was the fastest man, finishing 31st in 20 minutes, 30 seconds for 6,000 meters. Jane Kuebrich was the fastest woman, covering 4,000 meters in 16:20 for 33rd place.

The Penguins next compete at the Charles Bowles Invitational in Salem, Ore., on Oct. 1.
