Friends of Trees seeks volunteers to join local tree-planting crews. Volunteers are expected to commit 20 hours, including online training and four planting events. Planting events are mostly on Saturday mornings from October through May, with five options in Vancouver and dozens more in the Portland metro area. Crew leaders are particularly needed in Vancouver. Free training is available Oct. 15-29.
