Vancouver police arrested a man on domestic violence allegations after a two-hour standoff Wednesday evening in the Northwood neighborhood.

Officers responded at about 4 p.m. to a residence in the 7600 block of Indiana Street after detectives with the domestic violence unit received reports that a man was violating a no-contact order. The suspect was also wanted on an allegation of domestic violence residential burglary, and officers believed he was armed, according to police department spokeswoman Kim Kapp.

The suspect, identified by police as Ravel D. Puni, 27, refused to exit the house, Kapp said.

After about two hours, officers, with the help of Vancouver police’s Neighborhood Response Team and the Southwest Washington Regional SWAT Team, served a search warrant on the house, Kapp said.

Officers arrested Puni and booked him into the Clark County Jail on suspicion of residential burglary and violating a protection order.
