As members of the Clark College Board of Trustees, we have the opportunity to regularly see the work of faculty, staff, administration and volunteers at the college. President Edwards’ comments (“Clark College offers pathways to success,” The Columbian, April 9) are spot on.

As our community’s college, Clark has for decades provided opportunity for Southwest Washington residents and businesses in almost every sector of our economy. Individual and family life trajectories have been and continue to be positively and transformationally changed by their time at Clark.

We are proud of Clark College and its impact on our community. The team at Clark sets high standards for providing accessible, equitable, affordable and high-quality education. They then challenge themselves to achieve those standards for the betterment of the community we live in.

Southwest Washington is fortunate to have a resource of this caliber. We, too, invite you to campus to learn more and to appreciate the various educational, cultural, athletic and other opportunities Clark offers.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
