Clark County Arts Commission seeks Poet Laureate applications

Artstra extends the deadline to apply to become Clark County’s next Poet Laureate until Dec. 31.

The Clark County Arts Commission seeks applicants for the next Clark County Poet Laureate. The two-year, volunteer position begins May 1.

The deadline to apply has been extended to Dec. 31. Duties include promoting poetry as an art form, expanding access to the literary arts and encouraging poetry as a medium that contributes to a sense of place. Applicants must be residents of Clark County, over 18 years old and be practicing, published poets. Applying poets must demonstrate a commitment to outreach and collaboration as well as an interest in promoting equity and inclusion through the arts. Poets must exhibit flexibility in shaping a body of work that reflects their interests, skills and abilities. The position is eligible for grants or stipends.
