Prep highlights: Brown’s double-double helps lead Hockinson girls basketball past Skyview

Hockinson girls basketball lone senior Siena Brown posted a double-double with 17 points, 10 steals and also had five rebounds as the Hawks beat Battle Ground 41-24 in a non-league game Monday.

Also for the Hawks, Zieynita Stidum scored 10 points and had nine steals, freshman Dannika Grant had nine points and six steals, and Olivia Cochenour had eight rebounds and six steals.

Battle Ground was led in scoring by Skylar Fridriksson’s eight points.

RIDGEFIELD 45, SKYVIEW 38 — The Spudders’ 12-6 third quarter proved to be the difference on the scoreboard after leading by just one, 20-19, at the half.

Janessa Chatman had 15 points and Elizabeth Swift 11 for the Spuds.

Skyview was led in scoring by Kiera Parks’ 13 and Cameron Watson’s 10 points.

LA CENTER 61, NASELLE 38 — McKenzie Schockelt scored 23 points as the Wildcats earned a non-league win on the road.

La Center took control by outscoring Naselle 28-1 in the second quarter to lead 35-15.

Talia Wise had 16 rebounds, nine points and four steals.

W.F. WEST 65, MARK MORRIS 31 — Julia Dalan scored a game-high 29 points to lead the Bearcats to the win at Mark Morris.

Reese Johnston had 12 points plus five rebounds and four steals for the Monarchs.

COLUMBIA-WHITE SALMON 37, FORT VANCOUVER 19 — The Bruins kept visiting Fort to single-digit scoring in all four quarters to pick up the victory.

Sheyenne Antis led the Bruins with 11 points.

Fort was led in scoring by April Cruz with eight.

BOYS BASKETBALL

UNION 42, WASHOUGAL 24 — The Titans held visiting Washougal to eight first-half points to get the non-league win.

Kody Holcomb (12 points) and Grayson Stanley (11) reached double-figures for Union.

Washougal’s Alex Frost had 10 points.
