The city of Vancouver is looking for members for several of its advisory boards: the Aviation Advisory Committee, the Transportation and Mobility Commission, as well as the Salary Review Commission.

  • The Aviation Advisory Committee committee provides advice and recommendations to Vancouver and its airport manager regarding the management and operations of Pearson Field Airport, as well as other aviation-related issues. Applications are due Jan. 31.

Applicants should demonstrate interest in the airport, aviation and aeronautical activities, and preferably have skills in one or more relevant areas: airport management, law, marketing, finance, Federal Aviation Administration regulations, real estate, business and engineering.

There is no city residency requirement to serve. Interested applicants must be available for a virtual or phone interview with Vancouver City Council members. This recruitment is for a mid-term position that will expire May 15, 2025.

  • The Transportation and Mobility Commission is an 11-member volunteer commission that provides advice to Vancouver on a variety of transportation and mobility-related projects, programs and policies. Applications are due Jan. 31.

All commission members must live within Vancouver city limits, except up to two members who can live outside the city but within Vancouver’s urban growth area. The city is specifically seeking people with expertise or experience in freight movement and commercial trucking.

Qualified applicants will be interviewed by city councilors on a date to be determined. The Transportation and Mobility Commission meets at 4 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month and meetings are currently held as a hybrid of in-person and remote participation.

  • The Salary Review Commission is made up of seven volunteers who review the salaries and duties of the mayor and city council members to establish their salary and compensation. Applications must be submitted by Jan. 19.

This recruitment is for positions with terms ending December 2027. All incumbents who wish to reapply for their positions will be re-interviewed along with any qualifying applicants.

Applicants must live within the Vancouver city limits and be registered voters. City officers, employees and their immediate family are not eligible to apply. Applicants must also be available for a phone or virtual interview with Mayor Anne McEnerny-Ogle.
