Clark County law enforcement agencies will increase DUI patrols around the holidays, and they remind people to get a sober ride home from gatherings.
The Washington State Patrol announced troopers will also staff the Mobile Impaired Driving Unit following an event Friday night remembering those killed in crashes this year.
The State Patrol noted last year, Washington saw the highest number of fatal vehicle crashes in 30 years.
“Each year, the holidays bring friends, families and loved ones together,” the State Patrol news release says. “However, for many families, this time of year is also a stark reminder of those who are missing from the celebrations.”
