Letter: Middle East war has long history

Hamas is continuing a millennia-old war, not just decades. Hamas stems from family of Ishmael; Israel stems from family of Isaac.

Next, when one does one’s research, one learns Israel was given to Jewish people as a covenant from God. That’s clearly the only reason Israel remains in existence. Either that or every enemy state around her is really bad at conquering. She’s a tiny democratic land surrounded by hostile neighbors yet she remains. She’s the only nonapartheid state in that region. She has allowed those who would be her enemies to come and work and make a life for oneself and family. Until those enemies turn against her. Then she strikes and every time Israel strikes back, she is always blamed for the battle.

Should she let herself be overtaken by those who want her people wiped from the face of the planet? I wish our leaders were as passionate about our borders, which no longer seem to exist. Israel is by no means guiltless, and the God of Abraham has and will see to her justice, but she will never again be taken over by enemies. Just cross-reference your Holy Bible to today’s happening. It’ll all make sense.
