RIDGEFIELD — Ridgefield School District officials recognized the December 2023 employee and students of the month at the Dec. 12 school board meeting.
December employee of the month is Jackie Bergeron, fourth-grade teacher at South Ridge Elementary School. Bergeron collaborated with other district colleagues to write and receive a Clime Time grant to create an outdoor learning space and nature trail for the school. She researched and incorporated native plants to ensure the trail is educational and sustainable.
December students of the month are: Millie Silliman, Early Learning Center; Ivan Verovkin, South Ridge Elementary; Jasper Cole, Union Ridge Elementary; Lyon Geissal, Sunset Ridge Intermediate School; Luisa Sunia, View Ridge Middle School; Natalie Braunstein, Ridgefield High School; and Robert Fulfer, Wisdom Ridge Academy.
