All-America Selections has selected six new flowers as award winners for 2024.

Petchoa EnViva Pink is an exciting new interspecific hybrid between petunia and calibrachoa. Calibrachoa is the tiny-flowered species which is often referred to as million bells. This particular hybrid has flowers the size of large petunias. It also has an unusually large amount of hybrid vigor resulting in summer-long performance under rainy, dry or hot growing conditions. One judge said, “The flowers have a nice iridescent shimmer that toughed it out even when conditions got tough, like an irrigation system failure!” It has a beautiful mounding growth habit that makes it suitable for either ground cover or midheight divider. It also does well in containers. Now that a plant breeder has found a way to combine these two species, I predict we will see the development of a whole range of colors.

Petunia Sure Shot White is one of a new group of hybrid petunias which have continuous performance under a wide range of growing conditions. Sure Shot White has large 2- to 3-inch flowers on plants that are more compact that other large flowered petunias. It is a standout performer under a wide range of weather conditions from hot to cold and wet to dry. Works best as a ground cover and in container plantings, including hanging baskets.

Impatiens interspecific Solarscape XL Pink Jewel is another interspecific hybrid between regular impatiens and New Guinea impatiens. It has 2½-inch vibrant medium pink flowers. It grows best in full sun to partial shade. The plant size is more like the New Guinea parent. Solarscape XL Pink Jewel works well in both ground cover and midheight locations as well as containers. It outperformed its New Guinea comparison. I’m sure we will see a whole range of colors in this new interspecific hybrid.

Celosia Burning Embers is a new celosia bred for its gorgeous bronze foliage with dark pink veins that contrast nicely with the vibrant pink flower plumes. Plants have multiple branches with flowers that are larger and longer lasting than similar varieties. About 9 inches tall.

Geranium Big EEZE Pink Batik has unique pink and white striped flowers. The 18-inch plants are very floriferous with minimal maintenance. The Big EEZE geranium series is known for its superior container performance. This geranium performed like a champ all summer long during the hottest weather. The flower color was unique and flower heads were large. The plants fit best as background.

Marigold Siam Gold is a new hybrid with large 3- to 4-inch flowers on 18-inch plants. Siam Gold has beautiful, mounded foliage that produces globelike, fully double golden flowers all season long. The large flowers are held on top of sturdy stems and above the foliage for full color visibility making a striking focal point in the garden.
