The city of Camas has named Shaun Ford as division chief of emergency medical services for the Camas-Washougal Fire Department. According to Fire Chief Cliff Free, “Shaun Ford has a passion for EMS; is an accomplished EMS educator; and has demonstrated the ability to manage a high-functioning EMS system.

“I believe Shaun has the skill set and motivation to guide CWFD’s EMS program in providing the best possible EMS care for our citizens,” he said.

Ford most recently served as chief of North Country EMS and Clark County Fire District 13 in Yacolt. Ford has more than 20 years of experience in emergency services.

Donette Smith has been named postmaster of Yacolt.

Born in Washington and raised in Oregon, Smith began her eight-year career with the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier. She most recently was a customer service supervisor in Longview.

The Yacolt office serves 2,200 addresses, handles three delivery routes, 576 post office boxes, and averages 900 packages and 4,500 letters a day. Smith will manage postal operations with the help of six employees.

Gov. Jay Inslee recently appointed James Kelly of Woodland to the Washington State Partnership Council on Juvenile Justice, Trang Lam of Camas to the Recreation and Conservation Funding Board, and Keri Clark of Bellingham to the Washington State School for the Blind Board of Trustees.

Boards and commissions are designed to give Washingtonians a voice in their government and allow residents to influence decisions that shape the quality of life for all Washingtonians.
