PITTSBURGH — Four students were shot Tuesday afternoon outside Westinghouse Academy in Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood, officials said.

A Pittsburgh Public Safety alert just before 3 p.m. said there were no life-threatening injuries.

Students were allowed to leave the school just after 3 p.m. A designated pickup spot was established at Idlewild and North Murtland streets.

Police broadcast traffic indicated there may be two shooters who were dressed all in black with ski masks and fled in a gray Chevrolet Malibu.

A statement from the school district said the students were shot at dismissal time and the school was locked down. Three students were taken to the hospital by paramedics and one was transported by family members.

The school will switch to remote instruction Wednesday.
