Vancouver Public Schools will open enrollment applications for the 2023-2024 school year for its two new choice schools — Vancouver Innovation Technology and Arts Elementary School (VITA) and Ruth Bader Ginsburg Elementary School (RBG) — on Feb. 21.

VITA provides project-based learning, which accentuates student-led, long-term group projects with focuses on creativity and collaboration. This school year, VITA served as a lab school where students spent two weeks at a time exploring the school’s approach to learning, which is one of few in Washington.

RBG will be the district’s first fully dual-language Spanish/English choice school and will only enroll students in kindergarten and first grade next year, with the goal of starting students at a younger age.

Both schools will use a blind lottery system for student acceptance, will be open to all students in the district and transportation will be provided.

VITA is at 1111 Fort Vancouver Way, and RBG is at 8408 N.E. 25th Ave.

For more information, visit vansd.org or the respective school’s websites at vita.vansd.org and ginsburg.vansd.org.
