“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.” Mark 5:44
“They shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.” Matthew 5:11-12
Jesus was a Jew, who hated a head rabbi that had not earned his position but paid for it. He hated Jewish religious leaders who benefited at the expense of those who were truly persecuted.
What Jesus hated were hypocrites. If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. John 4:20
