Three displaced, no one hurt in Vancouver apartment blaze

Three people were displaced and a dog was moved to safety from two apartment units after a fire Saturday evening, according to the Vancouver Fire Department.

Firefighters were dispatched to the Regency Apartments, 11301 S.E. 10th St. in Vancouver, about 5 p.m. Saturday and arrived at a three-story apartment building with a fire in a middle apartment.

Some residents were alerted to danger from smoke detectors. Initial crews found the fire was controlled by the building’s sprinkler system, according a press release from the department.

No one was injured. Vancouver Fire had nine suppression units on scene.

An investigation into the cause of the fire and a damage assessment are being conducted by the Vancouver Fire Marshal’s Office, according to a news release from the fire department.
