Emergency crews responded to a natural gas leak Monday after construction equipment struck a gas line near Vancouver’s Ellsworth Springs neighborhood.
The Vancouver Fire Department responded at 11:38 a.m. to the intersection of Northeast 104th Avenue and Southeast Mill Plain Boulevard. Crews arrived to find high levels of natural gas in the area, according to a news release.
Fire and police crews closed the intersection and evacuated nearby businesses, the fire department said.
NW Natural responded to fix the leak, the news release states.
