Girls basketball: Class 2B La Conner girls stun Skyview, 81-77

The La Conner girls basketball team didn’t let a blowout loss from the night before spoil their road trip to Clark County.

After losing at Union 79-54 on Friday night, No. 7-ranked Class 2B La Conner put together a strong second half to stun Skyview 81-77 Saturday afternoon.

Ellie Marble scored 30 points and Josie Harper 27 to lead La Conner (13-4).

Skyview’s Jordan Labrador-Hallett led all scorers with 38 points. She made seven 3-pointers.

Skyview (11-5) led by just two at halftime, 46-44, but Marble scored 17 of her 30 in the second half to help lead La Conner to the victory.

COLUMBIA RIVER 53, R.A. LONG 28 — Marley Myers, Taegen Benke and Gracie Glavin each scored 11 points as Columbia River won the 2A Greater St. Helens League matchup against R.A. Long in Longview.

River (13-4, 13-1 2A GSHL) only led 6-4 after the first quarter, but had an 18-5 second quarter to take control.

R.A. Long’s Breyelle Box had 10 points to go with six rebounds and three steals.

WOODLAND 51, WASHOUGAL 42 — Riley Stading had 13 points seven rebounds and three steals, and Addi Stading has 12 points as the Beavers won to pull into a tie for second place with Mark Morris in the 2A GSHL.

Both are 10-3 in league, and Mark Morris holds the tiebreaker having swept Woodland this season. There are three games remaining in the regular season for each squad.

Chloe Johnson led Washougal (8-10, 7-6) with 15 points, and Isabella Albaugh added 13 points.

RIDGEFIELD 49, HUDSON’S BAY 42 — The Spudders won at Hudson’s Bay and are in fourth place in the 2A GSHL standings at 9-5 with two league games remaining on their schedule.
