Letter: Support Vancouver housing fund

By Phil Landesberg, Vancouver
Published: January 28, 2023, 6:00am

Many American cities are dealing with the problem of homelessness. Vancouver is one of them.

Unlike in other cities, Vancouver residents have acted to effectively address homelessness. In 2016, voters approved a tax levy that is building and preserving more than 1,000 affordable homes and has helped more than 1,600 people with emergency rent assistance.

Voting yes for the replacement tax levy in the Feb. 14 special election will fund Vancouver’s Affordable Housing Fund. The fund will be used to keep people in their homes and find housing for people currently homeless.
