Letter: Council, sheriff ignore fireworks

Kudos to the Clark County Council for establishing a Fireworks Hotline at 311. Very woke.

It is absolutely amazing that since there are major wildfires up the Gorge that fireworks are even being allowed in the outlying areas of the county. Of course, remember most of the fireworks being set off are people who have no regard for others and especially for animals like horses and dogs and even veterans who have been in combat and these loud noises bring back the horrors of war.

Most of the people now partaking have no idea what the celebration was all about. These people must save all year so they can shoot fireworks off. They have been firing them off by Battle Ground Lake for the last week. It is not legal until July 4 and the sheriff has been called. However, we all know they are too busy chasing bad guys committing crimes.

So the reason for the woke county council is trying to look good by having another volunteer program for a fireworks hotline. Wow, you have to admit John Horch and the council really have stepped up to represent the best interest of the outlying county residents once again.
