Letter: Thanks to churches that help

I have nothing but praise for our area churches who have risen to the challenge and are feeding, clothing and helping to find shelter for the homeless in our county.

All you have to do is talk to an organization like Open House Ministries or the two tiny home outposts. They will tell you where their help comes from and they are sharing more than peace. Take a drive on Andresen. There’s a church helping folks from all walks of life. The winter shelter near the courthouse is also organized by a church and members of other churches. I know several people from churches and communities outside of Vancouver who bought groceries, cooked and fed the folks at the tiny home outpost in Orchards all last winter.

So I say thank you to all the churches that have come together and are still helping the homeless in Clark County. Just a handful of people can do much. Of course, we can always do more and I pray that more folks step up to the plate and share their time and gifts. It is more than rewarding.
