There comes a time in every life when you need pastry for dinner. You want whatever savory pastry creation they’ve recently made on the “Great British Baking Show,” like, I don’t know, cock-a-leekie pie. What kind of crust did the baker use — flaky, short crust, puff, rough puff, choux or filo? Who knows? Who cares? And just what is a cock-a-leekie, anyway? Whatever it is, when it’s enveloped in pastry, any kind of pastry, it will be irresistible because pastry is a divine miracle.
