FERN PRAIRIE — The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4278 held their annual Memorial Day ceremony on May 27 at the Fern Prairie Cemetery. During the ceremony, Bob Hitchcock and Terry Totten presented the colors, and the National Anthem was played. Chaplain Michael Pfenning said a special prayer for the occasion, and Commander Sonny Liston and Post member Jerry Haxby read each of the 210 veterans’ names with the bell sounding after each name. At the end of the ceremony Jenny McCullough played Taps. Members of Scout Troop 424 and 5424 and some members of the community were there to honor our veterans.
