Clark County legislators and educators condemn Supreme Court affirmative action ruling

Gov. Jay Inslee, Sen. Patty Murray and other Washington lawmakers said Thursday’s Supreme Court ruling on affirmative action ignores decades of precedent and slows steps toward racial equality.

“These Republican-appointed judges have again shown their disdain for well-established principles of American law,” Inslee said in a release Thursday. “They’ve demonstrated they are blind to the fact that our long history of racism contributes to the opportunity barriers ethnic minorities still face today.
