Do you know someone who’s efforts have had a meaningful influence on Clark County’s parks, trails and recreational programs? Here’s a chance to recognize their endeavors.

Nominations for the 2023 Florence B. Wager Awards, a recognition honoring volunteers and parks and recreation staff, can be submitted until 5 p.m. April 15. They can be submitted via email, executivedirector@parksforclark.org, or by mail to P.O. Box 993, Camas, WA 98607.

Wager was a frontrunner in local volunteerism upon her retirement from the San Francisco Symphony. She was involved with the Chinook Trail Association, the YWCA of Clark County and the Fort Vancouver Regional Library. She was dedicated to supporting the development of parks — contributing to the creation of about 60-70 in Clark County, according to the Parks Foundation, an organization she helped establish in 1999.

The award encompasses select categories: Leading Eagle, V-Formation Flyer and Tributary. Criteria and further details for each recognition are in a nomination packet found at parksforclark.org/news/florence-b-wager-awards/.

Those selected will receive public recognition at the Parks Foundation of Clark County annual luncheon at noon May 11 at the AC Marriot Vancouver Waterfront, 333 W. Columbia Way. Recipients will be notified before May 1.
