Letter: We reap what we sow

I was born in 1940. In my lifetime we have gone from being a majority godly people to a majority godless people. Even the people who were not true born-again Christians mostly believed in God and reverenced God’s word, the Bible, and realized that living by its teachings, including the Ten Commandments, was the best way to live, because living contrary to them was dangerous and unhealthy.

In my high school English class, we memorized the 121st Psalm. These are the first two of the eight verses: “I will lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and Earth.” Because we have gone away from God, we are now seeing the fruits of our ungodliness, including abortion and homosexuality, etc. Walmart has decided to close its last two stores in the city of Portland, that used to be a well-run and good city, until the ungodly liberals took control of it, and ruined it with their liberal policies.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
