A man wanted in Multnomah County, Ore., in connection with a string of identity thefts was arrested Thursday in Clark County.

Cowlitz Tribal Public Safety Department officers arrested 31-year-old Justin Ray Jones. He was booked into the Clark County Jail on suspicion of felon in possession of a firearm and theft of a motor vehicle, in addition to the outstanding warrant, according to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office notified the public Feb. 27 that detectives were searching for Jones. Investigators said the identity thefts impacted people in Oregon and across the country, and they believed Jones would commit additional fraud, a news release states.

Detectives said they identified three dozen people they believe Jones victimized and said there are likely more victims.

The sheriff’s office encourages anyone who thinks they may be a victim to contact the agency’s tip line at 503-988-0560 or Crime Stoppers of Oregon at 503-823-0277.
