Letter: Tunnel is I-5 solution

By Caleb Patterson, Vancouver

City Councilor Ty Stober is digging in the correct direction to build us a better way across the Columbia River. The Federal Aviation Administration has said we can’t go too tall, the Coast Guard has said we can’t go too low. Stober has realized the only path forward is below the Columbia River.

A tunnel will be more expensive, but seems the best solution to Interstate 5 Bridge replacement. Memo to I-5 Bridge replacement team: Go dig or go home.
