The Historic Trust presents the next event in the Vancouver Barracks Military Association’s Military History Talk series, a presentation about Mary Edwards Walker, the first female surgeon in the Union Army and the only woman to be awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra welcomes jazz clarinetist and saxophonist Ken Peplowski and Grammy-nominated guitarist Diego Figueiredo to the annual Evening of Jazz benefit concert and dinner, starting at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday at the AC Hotel on the Vancouver waterfront at 333 W. March’s exhibit at Art at the Cave, 108 E. Evergreen Blvd., Vancouver, is “Clouds Illusions and Horizon,” featuring work from local artists who responded to an open call for art. The exhibit is named for the lyrics of “Both Sides Now,” by Joni Mitchell: “I’ve looked at clouds from both sides now, from up and down and still, somehow, it’s cloud illusions I recall.” The exhibit includes an artists’ salon from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the gallery.
