Clark County officials will hold an informational open house April 19 for those interested in a career as a corrections officer at the Clark County Jail.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. in the sixth-floor hearing room in the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St., Vancouver. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m., according to a news release. Space is limited, and people must RSVP by emailing DLCntyJailServicesRecruiting@clark.wa.gov.

Officials at the open house will provide information about the hiring process, including public safety test, the physical ability test and the academy and training process, according to a news release.

Corrections officers are paid between $30.35 and $40.74 an hour, the county said. Clark County offers bonuses of $10,000 for entry-level new hires and $25,000 for new hires with prior experience.
