Students at Battle Ground High School raised nearly $3,000 at the annual Best of Battle Ground show on Saturday. The money will go toward the surgery and recovery for 15-year-old Luke Montei, who has a heart condition called hypoplastic left heart syndrome.

Montei underwent heart transplant surgery Sunday morning, and “sounds to be doing OK, and as of this email his chest was closed yesterday morning,” said Sarah Shoote, one of the directors of the show and a student at Battle Ground High School.

Montei’s GoFundMe fundraiser and updates on his condition are available at www.gofundme.com/f/supporting-medical-costs-for-luke-montei.

The Best of Battle Ground show is available to view at youtube.com/watch?v=5142KK4ZBUg.
