A man wanted in the April 15 fatal shooting of a woman in southeast Portland was arrested Monday in Vancouver.
The U.S. Marshals Service, with assistance from the Vancouver Police Department, arrested Adam Jamal Burns, 29, on a warrant for the slaying of 28-year-old April Nicole Newcomb-Cripe, according to the Portland Police Bureau.
Burns was booked into the Clark County Jail on the outstanding warrant for second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon. He will be extradited to Oregon, police said.
At about 11:25 p.m. April 15, central precinct officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 2800 block of Southeast Colt Drive in Portland’s Reed neighborhood. Upon arrival, they found Newcomb-Cripe dead. The shooter had already left the scene, according to a prior police news release.
