Clark Public Utilities recently received the American Public Power Association’s Safety Award of Excellence, achieved Diamond status as a Reliable Public Power Provider in 2022 and won the Northwest Public Power Association’s Safety Award for 2022.

Clark Public Utilities earned a Safety Award of Excellence from the American Public Power Association, placing third in the its category in 2022. More than 280 utilities from across the country participated. Entrants were categorized according to their number of worker-hours and ranked based on incident-free records and overall state of safety programs and culture during that year.

Clark Public Utilities also earned the association’s Diamond Award as a Reliable Public Power Provider for providing reliable and safe electric service.

The Reliable Public Power Provider designation, which lasts for three years, recognizes public power utilities that demonstrate proficiency in four key disciplines: reliability, safety, workforce development and system improvement.

Clark Public Utilities’ safety practices were also recognized by the Northwest Public Power Association, which bestowed its Safety Award on the utility. The award is given to utilities based on the lowest total injury and illness rate for the preceding year. The utility earned the third-place position in its category.
